Fill, skim, watch the pump, shut it down on freeze nights. That is the whole program for most bowls.
Keep water over the pump. Running dry is the most common way a pump fails. A timer does not help if the basin evaporated.
Skim oak leaves in Magnolia Valley. Rinse film in August. Do not top off with canal water in Gulf Harbors.
Listen. A new rattle is usually the impeller. A hum you did not have in May is a pump going out of true. Call before it cooks.
Snowbirds need a person. Heritage Springs and Beacon Woods are full of fountains that sat dirty from May to October.
